The American builder's companion : or, A system of architecture, particularly adapted to the present style of building ; illustrated with seventy copperplate engravings
A builder's pattern book by Asher Benjamin, issued in Boston in 1827 for American carpenters and housewrights working in the Federal style. Seventy copperplate engravings give outline elevations and sections of cornices, entablatures, column capitals, mouldings, dentils and guilloche bands, plus geometric layouts for winding stairs and handrails, with dimension scales and construction lines left visible.
