Architect and engineer
A monthly trade journal issued in San Francisco from 1905 for West Coast architects, engineers and builders, carrying project reports, specifications and advertising alongside photographic plates of recent construction. The halftone photographs record building entrances, facades and interiors in Gothic, Spanish Colonial and stepped Art Deco modes, useful for terra-cotta and cast-stone ornament, storefront lettering, ironwork and lighting fixtures, and heavy tonal contrast in architectural photography.
