The Locomotive
A technical periodical issued from 1867 by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, reporting boiler explosions and inspection findings to engineers, plant owners and insurers. The plates are spare pen diagrams of buckled plate, split seams, rivets and stay bolts, drawn in outline with hatched shading on tinted paper, useful as schematic fragments and cutaway conventions.
