The principles and practice of textile printing
A technical manual on textile printing by dyeing chemists Edmund Knecht and James Best Fothergill, published in London by Charles Griffin in 1912 for colourists, engravers and works managers. Plates alternate between high-contrast black-and-white pattern swatches of dots, chevrons and stripes and labelled line diagrams of rollers, vats and drying machines, giving designers ready-made repeat motifs and industrial schematics.
