The Architectural magazine
The Architectural Magazine, edited by J. C. Loudon and published in London from 1834, was the first English periodical devoted to architecture, addressed to architects, builders, surveyors and self-taught students. Its plates are outline engravings: arch and vault geometry, bridge and gateway elevations with buttress steps, plans showing masonry coursing and voussoirs, all lettered and carried on measured scale bars useful as diagram vocabulary.
