The art and science of stair building ..
A trade manual on stair and handrail construction by Lucius D. Gould, published in New York by W.T. Comstock in 1885 for carpenters and joiners. The plates are line diagrams of curved handrails and winding stairs drawn in plan, elevation and section, with lettered points, tangent lines and inch-to-foot scale bars, offering geometric linework and labelled construction figures.
