The art of the Uffizi palace and the Florence academy, together with that of the minor museums of Florence, with explanatory and appreciative comment on the notable works therein preserved, and their history and significance
A 1912 Boston guidebook by Charles Christian Heyl to the paintings of the Uffizi, the Florence Academy and smaller Florentine museums, written for English-speaking travellers and students. Its halftone plates reproduce Italian panel paintings: gilded Gothic altarpieces with gabled frames, enthroned Madonnas under architectural canopies, crowded Adoration scenes, useful for figure groupings, frame shapes and drapery patterns.
