The Journal of the Society of Glass Technology, a technical periodical issued in Sheffield from 1917 for glassmakers, furnace engineers and industrial chemists. Its plates are line-engraved sectional drawings of presses, moulds, tank furnaces and feeder mechanisms, hatched and numbered, offering designers ready-made patterns of cross-hatched fill, keyed part labels and machine silhouettes.
