The carpenter's new guide: being a complete book of lines for carpentry and joinery
A builder's manual of geometric line drawing for carpentry and joinery, written by Peter Nicholson and revised by architect William Johnston, issued in Philadelphia by Grigg, Elliot in 1848 for working carpenters and joiners. The plates are engraved construction diagrams—arches, groins, hand rails, roof trusses—drawn in fine lettered lines with dotted projections and pale gray and green washes marking solid members.
