Notes on machine design
Charles H. Benjamin's Notes on Machine Design, published in Cleveland in 1902, is an engineering textbook of lecture notes for mechanical engineering students learning to proportion shafts, bearings, joints and fastenings. The plates are numbered line figures in cross-section, with diagonal hatching for cut metal, dashed centre lines and single-letter labels, supplying hatch textures, bolt and bearing profiles, and diagram lettering.
