A trade catalogue issued by the Glasgow ironfounders A. & J. Main & Co. in 1884, selling galvanized iron roofing, prefabricated sheds, portable steel railways and iron bridges to builders, farmers, railway companies and colonial buyers. The wood-engraved plates show open-sided shed frames in three-quarter perspective, curved and gabled roofs drawn as fine hatched sheets on slender lattice columns, giving designers repeatable structural skeletons, truss patterns and light line-shaded volumes.
