Architect and engineer
Architect and Engineer was a monthly trade journal published in San Francisco from 1905 for West Coast architects, engineers and contractors, mixing project reports and construction notes with photographic plates of recent work. The plates are halftone photographs of building exteriors in raking sunlight — brick and cast-concrete walls, arcaded window bands, blank corner masses, plantings at the base — useful for flat architectural silhouettes, repeating window grids and coarse-screen photographic grain.
