Constructive drawing. A text-book for home instruction, high schools, manual training schools, technical schools and universities
A 1904 mechanical-drawing textbook by Herman Hanstein, published in Chicago and New York by the drafting-instrument firm Keuffel & Esser for home study, high schools, manual training and technical schools. The plates are line diagrams in which geometric constructions are worked out step by step: pointed arches with voussoir divisions, inscribed circles, ellipses built from dashed construction rays, all lettered with reference points, giving designers a vocabulary of solid and broken lines, tangent arcs and labelled grids.
