A periodical issued from 1867 by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, reporting boiler explosions and inspection practice to engineers, plant owners and insurers. The plates are line diagrams in section and plan — hatched cutaways of valves, flanges and boiler shells, stay-bolt layouts, riveted seams — usable as flat technical linework with letter keys and dashed centre lines.
