The American stair-builders' guide
A trade manual on stair construction by Lucius D. Gould, published in New York by A.J. Bicknell & Co. in 1875 for carpenters and joiners laying out handrails and winding stairs. The 42 plates are line-engraved geometric layouts — numbered figures, pitch boards, tangent and face-mould diagrams, scale notes on tinted paper — useful as fine-ruled technical linework and construction-geometry motifs.
