Romano-British buildings and earthworks
John Ward's 1911 archaeological handbook for Methuen, surveying Roman-era structures in Britain — forts, villas, baths, hypocausts and earthworks — for antiquarians and field excavators. The plates are measured ground plans and sections in hard black line, walls filled solid or with hatching, rubble stippling and dashed section lines, giving designers ready-made geometric fills, keyed diagrams and masonry textures.
