The American stair-builders' guide
A trade manual on stair construction by Lucius D. Gould, published in New York by A. J. Bicknell & Co. in 1875 for carpenters and joiners laying out handrails and winding stairs. The plates are hairline geometric projections on tinted paper: plans, elevations and pitch-board diagrams, with lettered points, dotted construction lines, spiral wreath curves and inch-per-foot scales.
