Teachers' manual for freehand drawing in primary schools
A teachers' manual of freehand drawing by Walter Smith, published in Toronto in 1878 for primary-school instructors following his state drawing curriculum. The plates are white-line diagrams on black grounds: symmetrical rosettes, leaf and petal forms, and angular star figures built over dotted construction grids, useful as ready-made reversed-out ornament and geometric layout scaffolding.
