A treatise on levelling, topography, and higher surveying
A technical manual on levelling, topography, and higher surveying by William Mitchell Gillespie, revised by Cady Staley and published by D. Appleton in New York in 1876, written for engineering students and practicing surveyors. The 108 figures are line diagrams printed on tanned paper: tripod instruments sighting across hatched terrain profiles, angle constructions lettered A, B, C with dotted sightlines and arcs, and hachured contour and stream bands, useful as spare instructional linework, surveying icons, and geometric overlays.
