A 1915 trade manual by S. Roland Hall, published by Houghton Mifflin in Boston and New York, explaining how advertising copy is planned and written for admen and business students. Its plates reproduce period advertisements and their artwork: halftone suburban houses, office scenes of men with newspapers and candlestick telephones, close-ups of hands holding a pocket watch, and line-drawn battleships, giving designers ready-made commercial imagery and early product-demonstration framing.
