Handbook for architects and builders
A professional reference handbook issued by the Illinois Society of Architects in Chicago from 1898 onward, compiling codes, tables and building data for practicing architects, contractors and builders. Halftone and line plates show early skyscrapers and commercial blocks in three-quarter view — setback towers, terra-cotta crowns, gridded window bays — printed coarsely against black skies, useful as period city-building silhouettes and texture.
