Mediæval military architecture in England
George Thomas Clark's two-volume survey of English castles and earthworks, published by Wyman & Sons in London in 1884 for antiquaries, architects and archaeologists. Its plates are measured ground plans and sections drawn in fine line with hatched wall masses, stippled earth banks, scale bars and north arrows, supplying designers with geometric castle outlines, cutaway sections and engraved lettering conventions.
