Handbook for architects and builders
A trade handbook issued by the Illinois Society of Architects in Chicago for practising architects, builders and contractors, mixing technical reference with photographs of recent local work; the plates shown are from an early twentieth-century printing rather than the 1898 date in the record. Halftone photographs record Art Deco bank and office facades, carved stone panels and glazed lobby screens, while line cuts give sectional details of joints, flashing and window frames in hatched and stippled drafting conventions.
