A drawing manual by Thomas H. McGuirl, published in Toronto by William Briggs in 1887 to prepare candidates sitting Ontario's second- and third-class teachers' certificate examinations. The 93 figures are line diagrams of perspective construction: horizon and base lines, vanishing and measuring points, lettered vertices, arcs struck from centres, and cubes, ellipses and inclined planes in outline, usable as technical linework, lettered schematics, or grid and arc motifs.
