Dynamo-electricity: its generation, application, transmission, storage and measurement

Prescott, George B. (George Bartlett), 1830-1894 · 1884 · New York, D. Appleton · 456 pictures

A technical handbook on dynamos, arc lighting, electrical transmission, batteries and measuring instruments, written by American telegraph engineer George B. Prescott and published by D. Appleton in New York in 1884 for electricians, engineers and students. Its 456 wood engravings show lamps, regulators, armatures and meters in elevation and cut-away section, drawn with fine hatching on tinted grounds and labelled with letter keys, giving designers isolated machine silhouettes, gear and coil detail, and tall narrow figures.
