Civil engineer and architect's journal
A British trade periodical for civil engineers and architects, published in London from 1837 for practising builders, surveyors and contractors. The wood-engraved figures are lettered technical diagrams — sections through track beds and foundations, plans of sleepers and rails, machine elevations — drawn in fine parallel hatching with graduated measuring scales that can be lifted as rule-and-tick ornament or diagram furniture.
