A textbook on the locomotive and the air brake
A technical textbook on locomotive machinery and air-brake systems, issued in 1901 by the International Correspondence Schools of Scranton, Pennsylvania, for railway workers studying by mail. The plates are line-engraved sectional diagrams and piping schematics: hatched cut-aways of valves, diaphragms and cylinders, numbered leader lines, and long runs of brake pipe threaded through cab and car frames, useful as diagram stock, hatching patterns and mechanical silhouettes.
