The rudiments of architecture and building, for the use of architects, builders, draughtsmen, machinists, engineers, and mechanics
A technical handbook of architecture and construction compiled by John Bullock and issued by H.C. Baird & Co. of Philadelphia in 1872 for architects, builders, draughtsmen, engineers, and mechanics. The line engravings are small geometric diagrams: sections through masonry and earthworks shaded with fine parallel hatching, profiles of mouldings and cornices, mitred corner joints, and vault and arch construction, giving designers clean contour-and-hatch shapes, repeating stepped profiles, and corner ornaments usable as rules and borders.
