Mœurs, usages et costumes au moyen âge : et à l'époque de la renaissance
Paul Lacroix's survey of medieval and Renaissance manners, customs and dress, published by Firmin Didot in Paris in 1874 for general French readers and antiquarians. Its 388 wood-engraved plates copy fifteenth- and sixteenth-century woodcuts and manuscript scenes: dancers and musicians, court tribunals, workshops and armourers, processions of figures in hoods, houppelandes and pointed shoes, drawn in clean outline with light hatching.
