The microscopy of vegetable foods
A 1906 technical manual on identifying plant foods and detecting adulteration under the microscope, written by Andrew L. Winton with Josef Moeller and published in New York by John Wiley & Sons for food chemists and inspectors. The 505 line drawings render cell walls, starch grains, fibers and epidermal tissue as outlined cellular mosaics with stippled shading, usable as organic pattern fills, textures and letter-keyed diagram motifs.
