Henry Adams's 1912 engineering textbook on the mechanics of building construction, issued by Longmans, Green in London and New York for students and practising builders. Its plates are line diagrams of force polygons, guyed poles, braced frames and load triangles, drawn with dashed construction lines, hatched stress areas and handwritten dimensions in feet and tons, usable as technical line ornament.
