The American house-carpenter; a treatise on the art of building, and the strength of materials
A builder's manual by New York architect Robert Griffith Hatfield, issued by J. Wiley in 1867 for carpenters, joiners and students of framing and material strength. The plates are line diagrams: lettered construction points, ruled projection lines, hatched masonry and timber sections, and arcs for stair and roof geometry, useful as technical marks, grid overlays or schematic ornament.
