The microscopy of vegetable foods, with special reference to the detection of adulteration and the diagnosis of mixtures
A food-analysis manual by Andrew L. Winton, adapted from Josef Moeller's work and published by John Wiley in New York in 1916, for chemists and inspectors identifying plant tissues and adulterants under the microscope. The line engravings show cell walls, starch grains, fibers and epidermal layers in labelled cross-sections, offering irregular tessellated outlines, stippled textures and letter-keyed diagram conventions.
