Locomotive catechism; an up-to-date, practical and complete work on the locomotive--treating on the design, construction, repair and running of all kinds of locomotives ..
Robert Grimshaw's Locomotive catechism, published by N. W. Henley in New York in 1908, is a question-and-answer manual for enginemen, firemen and shop repairmen covering locomotive design, construction and running. Its line engravings are sectional and cutaway views of valves, bearings, cylinders and driving gear, with crosshatched cut metal, bolt heads, dashed hidden lines and arrows tracing steam flow.
