The microscopy of vegetable foods, with special reference to the detection of adulteration and the diagnosis of mixtures
A 1916 technical manual by Andrew L. Winton, Kate Barber Winton and Josef Möller, published by John Wiley in New York for food chemists and inspectors identifying plant tissues and adulterants under the microscope. The 534 line drawings show cell walls, starch grains, hairs and vessel fragments as labelled cellular mosaics — irregular tiling, hatched interiors and lettered keys usable as pattern and texture stock.
