The castellated and domestic architecture of Scotland, from the twelfth to the eighteenth century
A five-volume architectural survey of Scottish castles, tower houses and manors compiled by Edinburgh architects David MacGibbon and Thomas Ross and published by David Douglas in 1887 for antiquarians and building professionals. The plates are measured pen drawings: perspective exterior views with hatched roofs and masonry, ground plans, section details, numbered figures and captions, useful for line-based silhouettes, stonework texture and plan diagrams.
